Lessons From the Letters

To the Reader

Thank you for journeying with us. Sharing a voyage with you is a great honor and privilege. Your time is one of your most precious assets, and I appreciate your investing it in this expedition.

In the Bible in the book of Acts, the early church members gathered together amid threats of persecution and prayed to the Lord for the strength and perseverance to continue studying and spreading His word. God answered their prayer: “After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly” (Acts 4:31). God rocked the house.

The letters we are studying rocked their recipients as well. Each letter was custom designed to be specific for that congregation. My prayer is that you will allow these words from our Lord to rock your world just as they rocked the worlds of those early church members.

As you read the stories and the scripture, listen for the Holy Spirit to help you see how these words apply in your world and can help you live your most abundant life.

I prayed for you, my fellow sojourner, as I was writing these words. I will continue my prayers that these lessons will lead you to the abundant life that Christ has intended for you.

The Lessons written to the churches of Revelation over two thousand years ago are as relevant today as they were then. So, grab your bags and let’s journey to these seven churches to find the Lessons from the Letters.

Please let me know what lessons you learned from the letters and how the Word has changed you at LessonsfromtheLetters@gmail.com. You can also follow us at our website, LessonsfromtheLetters.com or on Instagram @leighw.young.
